Summer Soiree

A couple of weeks ago Michael came to visit, we were supposed to have an evening soiree at Ed's, however for one reason or another we ended up at mine. We dined on chili and lime salmon, dauphinoise potatoes and spinach and avocado salad. For pudding we had my new favourite, a sort of cake & pie hybrid, strawberry and almond cake, topped with strawberries and sweetened creme fraiche, deliiish ! It was a truly lovely evening, it was so nice to catch up with Michael (& of course Ed!) and I surprised even myself with this meal, as it was whipped up in quite a hurry and with very little planning.

Berlin

This is a small selection of photographs from me and Josh's trip to Berlin. Its the most amazing place, can't quite cope with the fact I'm back to rainy London now, reality is never nice after a holiday !

Berlin is a very weird place , wherever you look there are odd things happening. The street art is amazing, tacheles is a must visit but really the best thing to do is just walk around as you will see so much from just turning down little side streets !

Whilst we were there we also visited Poland for the day with my friend Michael. It was a very windy bleak day with lots of confusion but it was a fascinating place and I got some amazing clothes (including the jumper in the picture below).

Hello! had a busy few weeks so apologies for lack of anything. These pictures were taken last week at Josh's faux birthday party (we went to Berlin for his actual birthday so we had to celebrate early). George came and we stuffed ourselves with Pasta alla Genovese , Calzone and this raspberry and cream sponge, it was a little burnt around the edges but still pretty delish !

For Josh's birthday I purchased him a bottle of whiskey and this amazing decanter and glass set, I really wish I liked whiskey so I could use it too !

Anyway today is spring cleaning day, I am going to spruce up my wardrobe and then sell things on ebay.

Birthday Delights

So last week was my 21st birthday. My brother came to visit, we ate lots of cake and went to see Bright Eyes at the Royal Albert Hall (it was amazing!) . The rest of the week consisted of lots more drinking and eating and the worlds biggest and best bbq for which I made the cake above; a strawberry and almond cake with sweetened creme fraiche , so delishh! I also made a trip to Regents Park, it was the first time I have ever properly explored it, absolutely adore the boating pond and all the funny little names badges on the flowers. All in all I've had a great two weeks, now the job hunting begins as I am completely skint ! EK !

I dressed in a Poiret inspired outfit for a friends birthday a few weekends ago.

I'm sorry about the lack of photographic evidence of life of late, its essay deadline time, meaning I look a bit like this (just to clarify thats horrifically stressed, the hat is just to cheer me up a bit)

However, next week is my 21st birthday (who'd of thought I'd make it this far!) so I will be sure to document it very carefully.

Saturday evening Ed came over dinner, we drank a little bit too much, went to a party, left and came home. I am coming to the realisation that when I go out its always more about getting dressed up , then actually being there... hah!
Ed visited Shoreditch House last night, extreeeeeme jealousy! I went to a poiret themed party, and was horrifically overdressed. All in all a lovely weekend.

Yesterday Josh, Alex and I went for a little day out. We saw the exhibition on dirt at the wellcome collection , it was really brilliant. I especially enjoyed the last room about India and in particular the film called 'dirt' about the Hindu festival, Durga Puja. There was also a reproduction of one of the mud sculptures they emerse in the river, it was absolutely amazing, definitely my favourite dirt artifact ha.
Afterwards we went to Ed's dinner for some fries and they were awful. I didn't realise it was possible to make them that inedible but amazingly they managed. However, peanut butter shake was amazeee.

Last week Ed called and asked me to dinner. We sat on a a balcony in Spitalfields and ate the most delish Brazilian curry and then pranced around for a bit. The kimono I'm wearing is my favourite piece of clothing, its my mummy's but she gave it to me. I like it because it reminds me of home, as it used to hang on the bathroom door.

A Royal Day Out

So on the 29th April 2011 Kate & Wills decided to wed and Josh & I decided to leave London as we couldn't face the craziness of Hyde Park. So off we pootled to Worcestershire for the day to have a tea party with my mum, granddad and a selection of his friends. We drank wine, ate chicken and had a lovely walk around the Cathedral, it was a great day , only ruined slightly by the amount of travelling we had to do (we ended up spending 6 hours on various trains !)

I missed the R, OH DEAR.

Ello ello ello, bananas have become my new obseshh this week. Maybe its to do with prada ss11 OR MAYBS I just love nanas (I think its both actually)

These leggings are a recent purchase from toppers, they were pretty much an instant purchase. I keep having to check the topshop website as they did that brillo collection of fruity jewelry for the latest POP issue and I want it all. However, I think maybe .. it might not ever hit the shops, this is sad as they could make a lot of money from me purchasing it all..

Would also REALLY like these shoes? JC Suebees (keep wanting to call them subos haha, maybe because they are ugly but secretly beautiful?!)

I love the flatness, yummeeee . They are so geeky and great.

Anyway Pop has generally be my major inspiration since it hit the shelves. I had thought it had got a bit blah since Katie left and I had ceased to purchase it at all (this a major deal, I still purchase vogue every month despite ED trying to lead me astray). However, this issue was a complete revelation, I saw the cover and it was love ! I actually don't think a single issue of a magazine has so totally got what I've been thinking stylistically in my head. All the shoots are pure perfection (I even love Jessie J) , turbans and so much fruit and just an abundance of colour; it is my summer vision !

I purchased this ring on ebay from Loka enterprises. I am in love !

Barry m crackkkkyy nail effects, is zee best ! I love it. I was resigned to the combo of white and black but I tried it with yellow and it looks so great and tacky.

All things creepy are inspiring we at the moment; voodoo, sorcery and evil eyes. I went to see Don't look now (Nicholas Roeg) last night at the southbank and it was amazing! The imagery in it is beautiful and bizarre, and the suspense is unbearable! Definitely worth a watch if you have a chance.

Anyway only a quick post as its so cold in my home, I need to go somewhere else and warm up!

Lost in time

So today was the last day of my christmas holidays and as you can see above I was overjoyed because it was actually sunny! I decided to mark this rare and special occasion by popping on a sunhat and going to the Geffrye Museum. I'd never been before but its brilliant! It begins in 1600 and it charts the changing of the living room in middle class households, right through to 1990. I fell in love with the Victorian rooms and there was an amazing conservatory with this really tacky (but amazing) mural and lots of potted plants. I definitely recommend it as a day out, I spent hours in there.

There was also a lovely little reading room with lots of amazing interiors books. I found a great one on Vivene Green and her dolls house collection. I'll definitely be going back for research this term.I took my diana with me, so pictures will follow when I eventually get the films developed. Overall major thumbs up.

We did pick up a prize for best name but I think only because they felt sorry for us. However Brad's friends won, their prize being £40 behind the bar so they bought us all a drink, aww. New Year was exciting. We tottered along to see the fireworks.We got off at waterloo which was a big mistake, lots of fights and debauchery. I was a little bit terrified.

These sum up my Christmas pretty well I think. It was good I ate a lot. Christmas telly highlight? definitely , The only way is Essexmas ! Genius. I hate these few days that live between Christmas and New Year, they are never any fun. For New Year I think we are going to go and watch the fireworks , you know the big ones you see on telly, exciting.

In love with stripes and le French chic today. Sadly my outfit choice does not reflect this as the perfect skirt is in the wash.

uuuuuuurrrr so on Thursday I am going home to Cornwall, until Monday! Excitement. Hurray. I am excited not just to see zee fam but also because I can go to charity shops and bargain hunt which is something that doesn't happen in London , as it is devoid of anything cheap (i.e under 5quid) . durr durrr durrr. Yeh. Today so far has been a complete waste of time, I have pretended to do lots of useful things. Now I should probably go actually do some useful things, thosse socks aren't going to wash themselves!

p.s I haven't gone insane, its all this free time, I don't know what to do with myself !

This week has been a bit crazy insane, I feel so grown up! I've been to ballet and previews and other exciting events. Anyway on Tuesday I went to Kenwood house (see below) . Its amazing! Definitely recommend it to everyone it has such an amazing collection of paintings and the setting is beautiful right by Hampstead Heath. The cafe is also fabbbb, really lovely coffee and by the looks of things delisshh brekkers.

Today I went to see the timney-fowler exhibition at the fashion and textile museum, oh god! It was so good, not only did I get a free macaron but the exhibition is out of this world, everything is covered in fantastic timney prints and there is this amazing wall of her shirts hung up, I wanted to slip them off and try them all on! I'll definitely be going back as I think its got real scope for an essay I need to write about exhibition spaces.

Also the picture above; I'm feeling very heidiesque this week, I feel obsessed with paisley and all things embroidered! ohhhh and a new blog has been created with Ed, one of my topshop sweethearts, not sure how to describe it I suppose its a collection of everything we get up to + things that interest us, god that makes it sound dullll but I urge go LOOK .
